Our Wedding: Part III

I’m so excited to bring you part three of our wedding day. It’s hard to think our wedding was close to six months ago. As multiple photos will point out, the Chicago Cubs clinched to go to the World Series on October 22, 2016 – coincidentally the same night of our reception! When Spencer, the owner of Ovation, came and picked us up in the Rolls Royce, he subtly brought up the Cubs game slated for that night. Basically, he asked if we wanted him to project the game on the big screen near the front of the reception area. Corey and I both decided on the spot that if it was a close game in the 9th inning, to make a game time decision and project it.

As you can see, the game was turned on right as the Cubbies clinched! Our DJ blasted ‘Go Cubs Go’ and every guest at our wedding went nuts. As Corey and I danced up front, we looked out at all our closest friends and family repping a sea of Cubs memorabilia – think flags, shirts, hats…even a pair of Cubs converse!

Other than this monumental moment, the night could not have been more perfect. The venue looked absolutely stunning. All of our vendors – Lindsay Green Weddings, Ovation, Jewell Catering, Hoosier Mama Pies, Binny’s, Steve’s Flower Market, Jill Tiongco Photography, Amor in Motion – 100% knocked it out of the park.

Moments both Corey and I hold close to our hearts are the speeches given by my dad, stepdad, father-in-law, and sisters. While many people may agree that is is very unusual for every speech given at a wedding to be great, to the point of bringing many guests to tears. Not the case at ours – each speech included so much love, emotion and honesty, it genuinely blew us away.

I’ll never forget Corey and my first dance. We had taken dance classes as a fun activity to do together during the months leading up to the big day. Anyone who knows us can guess these lessons included a bit (or a lot) of frustration, but far more laughter. I mean…we are both pretty competitive! We brought our A game and stayed in sync throughout our little choreographed number. It was a very memorable moment for us.

The largest takeaway for me is this: planning a wedding is overwhelming, intimidating, and exciting all rolled into one. But the feelings of love, confidence and commitment that you feel on your wedding day are second to none. Our wedding wasn’t the end of planning for me; it was the beginning of our lives plan together.
