Happy 2018! I’m happy to welcome a new year and with it, new perspective and new intentions. For the first time ever, I dedicated valuable time to reflecting on 2017 as well as preparing my ‘bucket list’ for 2018. Taking time for reflection and intention-setting has been part of my ‘plan’ each year, but wasn’t put into motion until now. My focus for January is self-love. I’m using this next month to press the reset button and take.things.slow. My intention is to feel good about not always having a plan and not always having to be busy. This is an expectation I put on myself – no one is forcing me to do this or that. And sometimes this expectation weighs me down. It excites me to throw away expectations and welcome more happiness into life. I vow to choose it everyday.
“People tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will descend like fine weather if you’re fortunate. But happiness is the result of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it. You have to participate relentlessly.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
What I look forward to most this month…
get back to a regular workout routine
dive into a new book
snowshoeing at Arboretum
check out new rock-climbing gym
new recipes, more cooking at home
low key weekends at home
complete at-home office design
While I like setting intentions instead of goals, I do have one goal for 2018 and that is consistency. While my audience is small, I am very thankful for those who read my content on See Happiness Through. I am grateful.
Cheers to 2018!
