Homemade Acai Bowl

I’ve decided to start adding food & recipe content to See Happiness Through. While I primarily focus on personal style, I’m happiest when circulating out well-rounded content across various categories. I’ve always said See Happiness Through is a lifestyle blog and now is the time I am going to work to make that happen. I always love to hear what readers are interested in, so please feel free to share your thoughts with me.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what See Happiness Through stands for and what it means to me. Ultimately, I believe that every decision I make – how I style my clothes, what beauty products I choose to put on my body, what food I choose to put in my body, how I design my home, what exercise I decide is best for my mind/body/soul, who I decide to spend my time with – impacts my overall happiness. Furthermore, regardless of what I choose and how it impacts my emotions and outcomes, I will always see happiness through.

I’m not a great cook and I lack in dreaming up delicious & simple recipes. When I do throw something appetizing together, I’m proud of myself and feel a sense of accomplishment. I was first introduced to the acai bowl during my first visit to Left Coast on Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. During my latest trip to Whole Foods, I decided to pick up a few ingredients to create my own version of this trending sensation.


2 frozen individual packs of Acai (I prefer Sambazon – sold at Whole Foods)

1/2 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

1/2 Banana (frozen or unfrozen)

1/4 cup frozen blueberries

1.15 oz squeeze pack Justin’s Classic Almond Butter

Toppings of choice (I used flax granola, shredded coconut, strawberries & banana)

To do

Blend frozen acai, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 banana, 1/4 cup frozen blueberries and almond butter together until you reach a thick consistency. Pour into bowl, add favorite fruit + toppings and enjoy!
