Thrilled to bring you [in my personal opinion] my favorite gift guide in the continued series – one for the fitness and workout obsessed. We all have that friend who makes her 6 am workout class day of the week, is willing to try the latest diet fad (or perhaps trend) whether it be low carb, gluten free, paleo and of course who you’ll consistently see sporting her favorite Lululemon running tights and Nike zip-up. Proud to say I absolutely fit this description…anyone else out there? I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite fitness tech gadgets as well as work out apparel and accessories. I’m a brand loyalist and stick to those I know make me feel good. I easily become an evangelist for brands that check the boxes for both comfort as well as necessity. For both running and yoga, I always resort to Lululemon’s Run Inspire Tight and Wunder Under Pant because I genuinely feel the money I spend on these goes a long way and they are both very easy to move in. I own close to 10 pairs of their pants and have owned a few for close to 4+ years. Their customer service is worth noting – they genuinely care about their shopper satisfaction and go to great lengths to make their customer base happy. I resort to Patagonia strictly for their jackets/vests/fleece options. A few of favorites include: Re-Tool Snap-T Pullover, Better Sweater 1/4 Zip and Nano Puff Jacket (this one is a must!). Also worth mentioning, the Nano Puff Vest and Cotton Quilt Snap-T Pullover are on my to-buy list. Last but not least, Nike’s products are another fitness go-to for me, specifically their shoes. I belong to a circuit fit gym in Chicago where balance is a key factor in successfully mastering many of the movements we focus on (i.e. squats, lunges, deadlifts, etc.). This is where the Nike Metcon shoe comes into play. The Metcon is specifically designed for high-intensity training with a low heel and high-density rubber, allowing for more stability during squats, box jumps, agility…all the wonderful things I get to do at my 6 am weekday classes!
From a gadget standpoint, I love my Fitbit ‘Blaze’ and am seriously considering the Fitbit Smart Scale (who knew this existed?!). What I do know is a scale is not high on my priorities when it comes to household accessories, but after learning more about this version, my interest is piqued. A few things to note: it detects body fat percentage (measuring body composition of muscle to fat…which is what we care about, not actual weight), it saves all your stats over time through self detection every time you step on the scale and synchs with other Fitbit owned devices, making it simple to track fitness progress. Sign me up!
Last but certainly not least, I discovered MZ Wallace via Instagram and was intrigued by the sleek and transitional design. I want my workout bag to be one that seamlessly transitions from work to circuit fit and yoga to happy hour. Both the Metro Tote and Yoga Bag are on my wish list this holiday season. I will absolutely follow up with a review once I get my hands on these products!
