Blanket Scarf

During the cold winter months, resorting to the heavy duty camel or light grey sweater is easy to do. How to get out of this funk? Shift attention to: the blanket scarf. I love myself a giant scarf I can wear a multitude of ways. For this particular look, I essentially just wrapped myself up, appearing as an overcoat. This scarf was a gift from my soon to be sister-in-law from a small boutique in Bettendorf, Iowa called The Ruby Slipper. I love the neutral colors and subtle stripe pattern, making it incredibly versatile. These photos were taken near the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, MN and I absolutely fell in love (city guide coming soon!). I was instantly attracted to the large dissembled railroad tracks and wintery waterfall hidden in the background. My favorite backdrops include a mix of both charm and grit. These photos were taken with my brand new 50 mm f/1.8 lens and I could not be happier with the turn out (shout out to my fiancé for the amazing Valentine’s Day gift!). Anybody else thrilled that we didn’t get the projected 7 inches of snow we were supposed to get yesterday? In any case, bring on the sunshine and 50 degree temps this weekend!
