This weekend was definitely one for the books. My sister and brother-in-law threw Corey and I a wedding shower for our closest friends at Cellar Door (will definitely be back!) in Downers Grove. With the wedding less than three months away, this was such a fun moment to remove ourselves from the planning and relax and laugh with our closest friends. I honestly don’t think I’ve laughed as hard as I did in a long time…a big shout out to all my girlfriends for this (Justine…I mean Chelsea – I’m talking to you!).
Earlier this week, we enjoyed a beautiful evening on a boat cruising around Lake Michigan. It was really special since it was our first time taking in the Navy Pier fireworks together – loved every minute! Since we’ve been having HOT temps here in Chicago, I opted for a simple and comfortable look. These scallop lacquered shorts have been a staple for me – much versatility, taking me from the office to outings in the evening. I paired the shorts with a striped crop top (sold out, but similar here) and black cross body bag.
I am excited to gear up for another busy week! Special shout out to my fiance as he begins a new career venture tomorrow. We’ve both had a lot of change this past year, both together and individually, so there have been many moments of excitement as well as stress. All the emotions and change have allowed for growth. Our patience has been tested, but I feel we’ve overcome it by keeping humor as well as love front and center. I am so proud and excited for him!
